If you start deliveries this Tuesday 12th May, you won’t receive an invoice until 25th May.
We are always trying to reduce our Carbon Hoof Print and one way of doing this is trying to reduce the amount of paper we use in our office.
To help us with this we would like as many of our customers to receive their bills by email.

Our Family

The Roan family have been milking pedigree Holstein cows at Barnbarroch, in Dumfries & Galloway since 1891 and now 6 generations later we are still milking our cows. You could say that it is in our blood!

We thought it was about time to repeat what Great Grandpa Roan did when he brought fresh local, free range milk straight to you. Times may have changed but our commitment to our cows is even greater as happy cows make fresher than the udders milk!

Who`s Who –

Granny and Papa Roan live at Barnbarroch and are very much involved in the day to day running of farms.

Stuart and Aylett farm at Barnbarroch with their 2 sons Fergus and Fraser. The cows at Barnbarroch are milked by two Lely Robots which means the cows come and go as they please to get milk, giving them a much freedom to munch on lush green grass.

Steven and Tracey farm at Boreland of Colvend with their family Andrew and Lucy. They milk 180 pedigree Holstein cows who get to munch on lush green grass over looking the Solway View. The cows at Boreland can be spotted in the show rings at many of the local shows, and their son Andrew is very keen on following in his fathers footsteps to show his calves.

Our Story

We started processing our own milk in 2015 and since then demand for our free range milk has spread across Dumfries & Galloway.

We launched our Fresher Than the Udders Milk at Colvend Produce Market and then went on to selling direct to shops, cafes, restaurants, hotels and Bed and Breakfasts.
